Networking and social media are the "in" things right now. Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you've probably noticed that. It is no accident that social media is now a critical tool for major businesses today.

This past week has been chock full of great networking success stories and landings based on the Never Ending Interview concept that I blogged about two Mondays ago. Here is the story of my two favorites.

Nothing is more important than having a positive attitude during your job search. Even if you aren’t feeling your best, you have to learn to act as if you are. People are much more likely to help you (and possibly hire you) if you are emitting positive vibes rather than negative ones.

Just last week a job seeking friend of mine was venting about the frustration she was feeling while actively trying to connect with a recruiter. She said that a recruiter had left her a message just as she was leaving on vacation. When she returned from vacation she could not reach the recruiter again. In this economy, I was not at all surprised.
