"Kidnap a Recruiter for an Hour"
I became Absolutely Abby so that I could share the secrets about getting a job that only recruiters know. I've spoken to countless people at several hundred job search groups. And to date, I have hosted over 50 episodes of the Career Wake Up Call, an inspiring and intense, 60 minute "show" that strips the job search process down to the bare essentials as I answer an assorted collection of questions posed by my audience. Frequently, people email me and ask if I can sit down with them one-on-one to discuss their individual job search challenges. I refer these people to one of the excellent career coaches I've crossed paths with. Then I give suggestions on how to improve each to make them look like a star candidate. Do I Need a Coach or Some Time With You?It's not "either/or". If you are currently working with a coach, think of a consultation with me as a "test" of how ready you are to wow your next interviewer or perhaps a chance to show off the great progress you've been making with your coach. Hovever, if you have plans to hire a coach after we meet, I'll be happy to speak to your coach to share my first impression of you with him or her. Think of this as sort of a professional "second opinion". This is for you if…
